Pool Equipment Repair & Diagnostics
Pool equipment fails quietly — until it doesn't. We diagnose and repair pumps, filters, heaters, salt cells, automation, and leaks, and catch small problems before they leave you with a green pool or a broken heater.

Why it matters
Equipment problems caught early are often $50 fixes. The same problems ignored become $1,500 replacements. Routine checks protect your budget and keep the pool running.
Who it's for
Homeowners who recently bought a home with a pool, are preparing to sell, or want a baseline assessment before peak summer season.
What we diagnose and repair
Pump won't prime or is running loud
Air leaks on the suction side, a clogged impeller, or a worn shaft seal are the usual culprits. We pressure-test the suction line and rebuild or replace the wet end on-site when possible.
Filter pressure high or low
Pressure 8–10 psi above clean is a cartridge or DE-grid cleaning. A sudden drop usually means a broken lateral or torn grid — we pull the tank and inspect the internals.
Salt cell producing no chlorine
Calcium buildup, low salt, cold water, or a failed cell. We acid-wash the cell, verify salinity and flow, and replace plates only if output stays flat at full power.
Heater won't fire or shows an error
Gas, propane, or heat pump — we read the board code, check pressure switches, igniter, flame sensor, and gas pressure, and quote parts before we order them.
Pool is losing water faster than evaporation
We run a bucket test, then a dye test at the skimmer, returns, and light niche. Plumbing leaks get pressure-tested and located before any deck cutting.
Automation or app not connecting
Pentair, Hayward, and Jandy systems all behave differently. We reset the controller, update firmware, and re-pair the gateway — usually a 30-minute fix.
How a repair visit works
- 1.You describe the symptom — we pre-stage common parts on the truck.
- 2.On-site diagnostic: pressure test, electrical check, flow reading.
- 3.Written estimate with parts and labor before any work begins.
- 4.Repair completed on the spot when parts are stocked.
- 5.Special-order parts arrive in 2–4 days; we schedule the return visit before we leave.
- 6.30-day workmanship warranty on every repair we complete.
Frequently asked questions
How fast can you get to a pool repair?
Most diagnostic visits across the Bay Area Houston region are scheduled within 2 to 4 business days. Emergencies such as no circulation in summer or an active leak often get same-day or next-day slots.
How much does pool equipment repair cost?
A flat diagnostic fee covers the truck roll and a written estimate. Common repairs: shaft seal $180–$260, salt cell replacement $650–$950, heater igniter $220–$320, multiport valve rebuild $180–$260. We price parts before we order them.
Do you repair every brand?
Yes — Pentair, Hayward, Jandy/Zodiac, Polaris, Raypak, and AquaCal. We stock the most common seals, gaskets, salt cells, and igniters on the truck.
Can you find a pool leak without tearing up my deck?
Almost always. We start with a bucket test, then dye-test the shell, then pressure-test each plumbing line individually. Deck work is the last resort, not the first.
How long does a full equipment inspection take?
A complete inspection takes 45 to 60 minutes, including a written report with photos.
Do you service pool automation systems?
Yes. We work with Pentair IntelliCenter, Jandy AquaLink, and Hayward OmniLogic automation, and can review schedules and chemistry settings.
