What every weekly visit includes
A weekly visit is a checklist, not a quick skim. Gulf Coast heat, oak pollen in spring, and brackish humidity near the bay all push pool chemistry around faster than the rest of Texas, so the same steps happen every single week whether the water looks perfect or not. If we find something outside that list — a failing seal, a cracked basket, a salt cell losing output — you hear about it that day with a plain-language explanation and a price before any work starts.
- Skim surface debris and empty baskets
- Brush walls, steps, and tile line
- Vacuum pool floor as needed
- Test and balance chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and CYA
- Inspect pump, filter, and skimmer operation
- Add chemicals as part of your monthly rate
- Waterline tile wipe-down
- Deck rinse around the pool edge
- Detailed service report after each visit

Why pool care here is different
League City sits close enough to Galveston Bay that salt-laden humidity works on every piece of metal around the pool. Heater headers, rails, and light rings corrode faster here than they do twenty miles inland, and saltwater systems are the norm rather than the exception. That is why we clean salt cells on a strict rotation instead of waiting for a low-output alarm, and why the equipment check is part of the weekly visit rather than an annual service call. Catching a cell at 60 percent output is a cleaning. Catching it after it fails is a replacement.
Friendswood runs the opposite problem. The tree canopy through Forest Bend, Sunmeadow, and the older streets off FM 518 is beautiful and relentless: oak pollen in spring, leaf drop in fall, and baskets that fill twice as fast as an open backyard in a newer subdivision. Pools under heavy canopy need more vacuuming, more brushing at the waterline, and filter cleanings on a shorter interval. Skipping any of that is what turns a clear pool cloudy in a single hot week.
Both cities share the Gulf Coast pattern that drives most of our service calls: water above 85 degrees burns through chlorine roughly twice as fast as spring water, tropical downpours dump phosphates and swing pH overnight, and stabilizer creeps up quietly until shock treatments stop working. A weekly route handles all three before they compound. A monthly one does not, which is the honest reason we do not sell a monthly plan.
Storm season gets its own routine. Before a named storm we lower the water level, shock the pool, and clear the deck. After it passes we skim, brush, run the pump long enough to turn the water over, and rebuild the chemistry from scratch — existing weekly customers get that scheduling first.
Frequently asked questions
What areas does Lonestar Pool Care serve?
We run weekly pool routes across League City, Friendswood, Pearland, Clear Lake, Webster, Dickinson, Kemah, Seabrook and the surrounding Bay Area Houston communities, with League City and Friendswood as our two hub markets.
How much does weekly pool service cost in League City and Friendswood?
Pricing depends on pool size, tree cover, and whether the pool is salt or chlorine. We come to your home, look at the pool in person, and give you an exact price during a free on-site estimate.
What is included in weekly pool service?
Every weekly visit includes skim surface debris and empty baskets, brush walls, steps, and tile line, vacuum pool floor as needed, test and balance chlorine, ph, alkalinity, and cya, inspect pump, filter, and skimmer operation, plus a written report so you know exactly what was done and what we found.
Do you require a contract?
No. Weekly service is month to month with no long-term agreement and no cancellation fee. Most customers stay because the pool stays clear, not because a contract holds them.
What happens if my pool turns green?
Green water is treated as a recovery job, not a normal weekly visit. We test the water, shock and treat it, clean or replace the filter media as needed, and return daily or every other day until the water clears — usually three to five days. Once it is clear, the pool goes onto the weekly route so it stays that way.

Do you handle storm prep and post-hurricane pool restoration?
